CAN’T GET MUCH EASIER…..

Having read MMM over the past few years, I am writing to advise that we have finally taken the plunge and purchased our first motorhome early in March last year : Nothing strange in that ,except that we purchased the motorhome abroad and we have based it near Pisa, Italy, complete with Italian number plate and insurance. We had studied various layouts, many MMM test report,and visited several exhibition, including Dusseldorf, over the past three to four year and we finally decided on the purchase of a Laika Rexosline H 680 LHD Fiat AL-KO with auto gearbox.

One of our main concerns is that we live in the Highlands of Scotland (quite cold and wet in winter) and that we wonted to tour wormer eastern European countries for several months at a time ,but we did not wish to be continually travelling backwards and forwards – the length of the UK, across the Channel at Dover, and driving through western Europe – to arrive at our main touring destination. We therefore decided to purchase and garage our motorhome near Pisa airport, in Italy where we would be able to travel north ,south. east or west to some wonderful places.

During March and April we toured Tuscany, San Marino, Manfredonia, Gallipoli, Sicily, Naples and Rome. On our last trip during September and October, we visit Venice, the dolomites ,lake Garda and Iseo and then Cinque Terre (near La Spezia) .

Pisa is also very close to Corsica, Sardinia, and also convenient for Croatia, Greece, the south of France, Spain and many other destinations. Pisa airport is well served by many UK airports and also near to main Laika production factory should there be any vehicle problem.

We chose Caravanbacci as our main dealer, who are based at Lavoria ,approximately five miles from Pisa ,and they have provided us with excellent service throughout the purchase of our motorhome.. When we fly back to the UK, they store the motorhome and carry out any necessary maintenance in readiness for our next tour, including washing the van and filling the gas bottles up ready for the off again. They even pick us up at the airport when we arrive and take us back when we have finished our tour.
